About Us

Since 1928, The Garner Woman’s Club has been united in its commitment to volunteer service.  We are one of over 110 clubs throughout North Carolina and the oldest civic club in Garner. We are improving our local community through programs in Arts and Culture, Civic Engagement and Outreach, Education and Libraries, Environment, and Health and Wellness. We are diverse in age, interests and experiences, but we are united by a desire to create positive change, and, together, we transform lives every day.

We are a member of the General Federation of Women’s Clubs (GFWC), an international women’s organization. GFWC is proud to have over 80,000 members represented in more than 20 countries. Each club maintains its identity and focus while benefiting from the strength that comes from being a part of the world’s largest and oldest international volunteer service organization whose motto is “Unity in Diversity”.

Each year, The Garner Woman’s Club raises funds during the year to award to local area High School Seniors planning to attend a college in North Carolina.  Named in honor of the organizer of the GFWC-NC, The Sallie Southall Cotten Scholarship recognizes with outstanding scholastic achievements and community citizenship.
