Celebrating Excellence: Garner Woman’s Club Honors Scholarship Winner Hillary Hankins
What an incredible evening we had at the Garner Woman’s Club last night as we gathered to honor and celebrate a truly remarkable young woman — our 2024 scholarship recipient, Hillary Hankins! Surrounded by friends, family, club members, and special guests, Hillary was the guest of honor at a heartfelt dinner hosted in recognition of her academic achievements, community spirit, and the bright future ahead.
The evening was made even more special by the presence of Karen Throckmorton, President of the General Federation of Women’s Clubs of North Carolina (GFWC-NC), and Judi Dibble Stankowich, GFWC-NC Parliamentarian. Their support and kind words highlighted the importance of nurturing future leaders and celebrating the accomplishments of young women who are already making an impact in their communities.
Hillary, a talented student and dedicated volunteer, will be continuing her academic journey this fall at East Carolina University (ECU). We are incredibly proud of her achievements and excited to see all that she will accomplish as she joins the Pirate Nation. From her academic dedication to her artistic talent — including her passion for playing the cello 🎻 — Hillary truly exemplifies the values we hold dear: education, leadership, and service.
In addition to celebrating Hillary, the evening also served as an opportunity to reflect on and recognize the tremendous volunteer work our club members have contributed to the Garner community in recent months. From local outreach initiatives to civic improvement projects, our members have generously given their time, energy, and hearts to making Garner a better place for all.
Congratulations once again to Hillary Hankins — we are so proud of you and can’t wait to see what the future holds! 💜💛🎓
And thank you to all our Garner Woman’s Club members and supporters for your unwavering commitment to service and empowerment. Together, we are building a stronger, brighter future for our community.
