The Garner Woman’s Club Presents: The Sallie Southall Cotten Scholarship
Each year, the Garner Woman’s Club proudly awards the Sallie Southall Cotten Scholarship to a deserving high school senior from the Garner area. This scholarship honors students who exemplify strong character, academic achievement, leadership potential, ambition, and a genuine need for financial support as they pursue higher education.
Your donation directly supports the next generation of changemakers—those who will lead with integrity, serve their communities, and carry forward a legacy of excellence.
This scholarship is named for Sallie Southall Cotten (1846–1929), a pioneering advocate for women’s education in North Carolina and a passionate leader in civic life. As a distinguished author and a founding figure in the North Carolina Federation of Women’s Clubs, Cotten’s impact continues to inspire. Through this scholarship, her vision lives on.
